Pune: Five Tonne Fish Found Dead In Indapur Taluka, Pond Owner Suspect They Were Poisoned

Indapur, 10th August 2021: In yet another incident, five tonnes of fish were found dead in a pond at a farm in Indapur taluka’s Shelarpatta village near Kalas. Apparently, the owner of the pond alleged that some unknown persons mixed poisonous substances in the pond water which lead to the death of the fish.

According to the complainant Ashok Sukhdev Kevate said, “nearly, five tonne fishes in his pond died. The fishes were of Rupchand type which fetches good money in the market. The fishes would fetch him Rs 90 to 100/kg. The fish weigh 250 gram to 700 gram.”

He mentioned in the complaint filed with the Indapur police station under Pune rural police that during the night someone purposely mixed some chemicals in the water. He saw the dead fishes when he went to the farm early in the morning on Monday.
