Pune 12th August 2023: Union Minister of Highway and Road Transport Nitin Gadkari on Saturday will inaugurate the newly constructed flyover at Chandni Chowk that aims to reduce the traffic congestion on the Pune-Bengaluru Highway. This area of the highway witnesses heavy traffic congestion and the Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was also a victim of this as his convoy was also stuck for over 15 minutes here last year.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stone of the flyover in 2018. However, the project was delayed for a long time due to various issues including land acquisition as one of them. The government has spent around Rs 1,000 Crore for the project with the contribution from central and the state government.
