According to a forest officer, the eco-tourism centre is poised to commence operations this monsoon, capitalizing on Kanheri’s status as a haven for nature lovers, particularly during the rainy season. The centre aims to provide visitors with an opportunity to explore the region’s stunning natural beauty while observing rare animals and birds in their undisturbed habitats. Additionally, the forest department aims to create employment prospects for local communities. Currently, approximately 75% of the project is completed, and the inauguration is scheduled to take place in the coming days.

The construction of the Eco-Tourism Centre project began in 2021, utilizing a land area of approximately 56 hectares allocated to the Forest Department by the Government of Maharashtra.
