Pune: Four Bangladeshi Citizens Arrested in Bhosari for Forging Documents
Bhosari, 10th June 2024– Four Bangladeshi citizens, including two women, were arrested by the Pimpri Chinchwad Police’s Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) for creating fake documents. The arrests occurred on Saturday (8th June) around 6 PM in Moshi. The arrested individuals are:
– Dhanno Arun Sarkar (26)
– His wife Pooja Dhanno Sarkar, also known as Rubaya Bilal Masum Nur Islam Shaikh (24)
– His brother Manno Arun Sarkar (28)
– Laboni Sushi Iyer, also known as Saathi Khatun Mandal (28)
The ATS has also registered a case against those who made the fake documents for these Bangladeshi citizens. ATS constable Tanhaji Sonawane filed the complaint at MIDC Bhosari Police Station.
All the accused are Bangladeshi nationals who have been living in India without proper documentation or permission for the past 12 years, and they have resided in Moshi for the last two years. Dhanno worked as a fruit seller, while his brother Manno worked in a company. They obtained fake Aadhar cards, birth certificates, and school leaving certificates through agents and used these documents to buy a SIM card.
A case has been registered against them under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Foreigners Act of 1946, and the Passports Act of 1967. To date, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police’s ATS has arrested around 65 Bangladeshis for creating fake documents, including 9 in MIDC Bhosari, 5 in Nigdi, 5 in Bhosari, and others in various police stations across Pimpri Chinchwad.
