Pune: Four Farmers Die From Electric Shock While Releasing Pump In River

Bhor, 15th December 2022: An unfortunate incident took place on Thursday (15th December) where four farmers were electrocuted while leaving the motor of an electric pump in a riverbed in Nigde village of Bhor taluka of Pune district in Maharashtra.

 

It was revealed that a father-son duo also died in this incident. The preliminary investigation has informed that four people died due to the sudden start of the electricity supply and the current fell into the water.

 

The names of the deceased are Vitthal Sudam Malusare (48), Sunny Vitthal Malusare (24), Amol Chandrakant Malusare (35), and Ananda Dnyanoba Jadhav (58), residents of Nigde, Taluka Bhor, District Pune. As soon as the incident came to light, villagers, Tehsildar, officials from MSEDCL, and officials from Rajgad Police Station rushed to the spot.

 

Nigde village in Bhor taluka has agriculture along the Gunjvani riverbed. Water is supplied for agriculture from the riverbed. With the help of an electric pump, the water is collected and brought to the field.

 

On Thursday (16th December) around 11.00 am, Vitthal Malusare, his son Sunny, Amol, and Ananda were keeping the heavy motor in the riverbed. At that time, the power supply was interrupted. While placing the motor in the river bed, suddenly the power supply started, resulting in the four being electrocuted. All four fell into the water due to the electric shock.

 

At that time, the villagers on the river bank saw this. They were then immediately admitted to the hospital. But they died before treatment.

 

As soon as the information about this incident came to know, the Sub Divisional Police Officer of Haveli Bhausaheb Dhole, Assistant Police Inspector of Rajgad Police Station Nitin Khamgal, rushed to the spot. MLA Sangram Thopte and, Poptrao Suke, Kuldeep Konde, Jeevan Konde, and others visited the spot and consoled the Malusare and Jadhav families.

 

Sachin Patil, Senior Police Inspector, Rajgad Police Station, said, “Four farmers died due to a sudden power outage while placing the motor in the river bed. The case is under investigation. In this regard, a case of accidental death has been registered at Rajgad Police Station.”
