Pune: Four Individuals Booked in Bhosari for Involvement in Minor Girl’s Marriage Leading to Pregnancy

Bhosari, 10th May 2024: Pimpri Chinchwad Police has registered a case against four individuals for their involvement in the marriage of a minor girl, which came to light after she became pregnant. This incident occurred between July 2023 and May 2024 in Latur, Maharashtra.

The minor girl, who is the victim in this case, filed a complaint with the MIDC Bhosari Police Station. Consequently, MIDC Bhosari Police Station has registered a case against the victim’s mother and father, her father-in-law, and her 24-year-old husband.

According to police reports, the girl was married to a 23-year-old man from Latur approximately 1 year ago. Even after knowing she is a minor, the husband engaged in sexual activities with her from time to time, leading to her pregnancy. All the accused in this case were aware that she was a minor. While visiting her parents’ house, she filed a complaint with the police.

The MIDC Bhosari Police have registered a complaint under the relevant sections of the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act of 2006 and the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) of 2012. Assistant Police Inspector Godbole from MIDC Bhosari Police is further investigating this matter.
