Pune: Four Persons Arrested For Firing In Air After Birthday Party In Lohegaon

Lohegaon, 26th November 2022: The officials from the detection branch of Vimantal police station, Pune city police, nabbed four persons within six hours after they terrorised people by firing twice in the air in Lohegaon. The incident took place around 10.30 pm on Friday after a birthday party.

 

 

 

The arrested persons have been identified as Nitin Kisan Sakat (21), Ganesh Sakharam Rakhpsare (21), and Pavan Yuvraj Paithankar (21), all residents of Rakhpsare vasti in Lohegaon and Avinash Kaluram Madge (22) of Khese Park, Lohegaon. Paithankar and Sakat are studying BA. Ganesh is an autorickshaw driver, while Madge is unemployed.

 

Senior Police Inspector Vilas Sonde, in charge of Vimantal (airport) police station, said, “The accused had gathered for a birthday party and consumed liquor. To terrorise residents, one fired two rounds in the air at Sant Tukaram Temple chowk and later one round in the air at Ganpati chowk.”

While the investigation was on, policemen Yogesh Thopte and Girish Nanekar received information that the accused were hiding in the hillocks of Khandoba Mal in Lohegaon. They were nabbed after a brief chase.

 

“We have recovered one country-made pistol worth Rs 50,000 from the accused. Further investigation is going on”, Inspector Sonde added.

 

The action was taken under the guidance of DCP (Zone 4) Shashikant Borate, ACP (Yerwada Division) Arti Bansode and Senior Police Inspector Vilas Sonde. The team included Police Inspector (Crime) Mangesh Jagtap, PSI Ravidra Dhaware and police personnel Avinash Shewale, Sachin Kadam, Sachin Jadhav, Umesh Dhende, Girish Nanekar, Ankush Jogdande, Nana Karche, Rupesh Todekar, Yogesh Thopte and Sanjay Asawle.
