Pune Girl Secures Gold Medal At Boxing Championship In Spain
Pune, 27th November 2022: 17-year-old Devika Ghorpade, a resident of Pune, secured a gold medal at the IBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships 2022, in La Nucia, Spain, along with her companions, Vishwanath Suresh and Vanshaj.
The young girl has represented her country and taken part in various competitions, securing ranks and accolades in many. Ghorpade secured the gold prize by beating England’s Lauren Mackie in the women’s 52kg final.
India has secured 11 medals in the competition and is currently in the leading position.
