Pune: Four Persons Arrested For Illegally Selling Body Building Injections

Bibvewadi, 18th October 2021: Four persons have been arrested by Pune City Police for illegally selling mephentermine sulphate injections, which are mandatory to be sold only with a doctor’s prescription.

According to Namrata Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5), over 211 bottles of ejection medicine and a Swift car worth Rs 2 lakh 6,000 were seized from their possession.

In this case, Paresh Nivruti Renuse (33), Pravin Singh Puksingh Bhati (23), Akshay Sambhaji Wanjle (26), and Shaunak Prakash Sankapal (28), are the four accused who have been arrested.

While patrolling on October 16, Assistant Police Inspector Praveen Kalukhe received a tip-off that the accused would come to the Dolphin Chowk in Bibwewadi to sell injections to aspiring bodybuilders without a doctor’s prescription. A police team then laid a trap and arrested accused Renuse around 11.30 am. Six bottles of injection were seized from his possession.

After further interrogation, a total of 211 bottles were recovered from his accomplice. Atish Sarkale, a drug inspector of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has lodged a complaint at Bibvewadi police station, said Senior Police Inspector Sunil Zavre.

The investigation team included Police Inspector (Crime) Anita Hiwarkar, PSI Sanjay Adling and police personnel Sachin Funde, Santosh Jadhav, Nitin Dhotre.
