Pune: Four Workers Died While Cleaning Septic Tank Near Loni Kalbhor

Pune, 2nd March 2022: The bodies of four workers was brought out of the tank by PMRDA fire brigade team.
The deceased have been identified as Sikandar Popat Kasbe, Padamkar Maruti Waghmare, Krishna Datta Jadhav and Rupesh Kamble, all residents of Loni Kalbhor.
PMRDA Fire Officer Vijay Mahajan said that the incident came to light around 11 am. A man had called the workers to clean the septic tank of his house near Hotel Pyasa in Kadam Wak Vasti, Loni Kalbhor
An industrial vacuum machine was used to drain empty the septic tank last night. Two men went inside the tank today morning to remove the ‘Guard Cap’ and clean the tank, and during this manual part of the regular process. The two men died of suffocation. The other two entered the tank to save them but they also died.
