Pune, 16th September 2022: On September 7, a student from the Little Millennium school slipped and hurt her head at the school’s Kharadi branch. The child’s parents acknowledge that it was an accident, but they insist that it could have been prevented if appropriate safety precautions had been taken.
They claim that the staff neglected to treat the injuries properly despite its seriousness.
At around 1 pm, the girl fell while playing and struck her head on a sharp corner of the wall.
Her left brow suffered a severe cut. She had to undergo surgery in Jehangir Hospital.
Nitesh Tiwari, father of the four-year-old said that he has filed a complaint about the avoidable occurrence with the Chief Minister, the Department of Education, and the Department of Women’s and Children’s Rights.
Around 1:30 p.m., while he was still in his office, his wife called to tell him that the principal had called to say that their daughter had fallen and been hurt from the edge of a wall.
Tiwari said, “She (the principal) also stated whether or not they should take the child to the hospital. When my wife arrived at the school in a hurry, she discovered turmeric powder on the wound. I eventually arrived at the school. The CCTV evidence demonstrates that recklessness was involved.”
Geetika Sethi, Manager of Customer Support, Little Millennium Education Pvt Ltd’s said, “An internal probe was underway and I can’t comment on this problem.”
