Pune: French Choreographer Xuan Le Brings Acclaimed Performance ‘Reflet’ to City on December 6
Pune, 5th December 2025: Internationally acclaimed French choreographer Xuan Le, renowned for his unique fusion of contemporary dance, hip-hop, roller skating, and visual poetry, interacted with media in Pune on Friday ahead of his upcoming performance in the city. The interaction was also attended by Amélie Weigel, Director, Alliance Française Pune.
Alliance Française Pune — the city’s official French language and cultural centre, supported by the French Embassy in India — has partnered with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to present Le’s globally celebrated performance Reflet. The show is scheduled on December 6 at 7:30 pm at PMC Kalagram, Sinhagad Road, with free entry for the public.
Created and performed by Xuan Le along with dancer Shih-ya Peng, Reflet is a visually striking contemporary duet that weaves together movement, balance, hip-hop, freestyle skating, and immersive scenography. The performance explores identity, memory, and the delicate threads that shape human connection.
Speaking about his ongoing India tour, Xuan Le said this is his second visit to the country, but his first time touring with his own company. He has already performed in Kochi, Jaipur, and Mumbai before arriving in Pune. “Every city in India has its own pulse. Indian audiences respond with curiosity, openness, and emotion,” he said. Expressing gratitude for the “warm and enthusiastic response,” he added that India continues to inspire him through its stories, traditions, and artistic expression.
He also mentioned that he has been practicing Iyengar Yoga for over 15 years, a discipline that deeply influences his movement vocabulary and choreographic style. “Cultural exchange is essential for artists. When we meet different cultures, we evolve,” he remarked.
Highlighting the collaboration with PMC, Amélie Weigel said the initiative reflects Alliance Française Pune’s commitment to strengthening Indo-French cultural ties and bringing world-class performances closer to local audiences. “We want Pune to experience diverse global arts without barriers of access,” she said.
Reflet is internationally acclaimed for its atmospheric lighting, precise movements, and a captivating illuminated sphere that forms a central visual element of the show. The performance offers Punekars a rare opportunity to witness a contemporary international production that blends athleticism with poetic storytelling.
Entry is free, and audiences are encouraged to arrive early to secure seating.
