Pune: Fridge Explodes, Fire Breaks Out In Pimple Saudagar Flat; Girls Rescued
Pimpri Chinchwad, 18th September 2026: Two young girls were rescued after a fire broke out in a flat at Ganeshm Phase 2 society in Pimple Saudagar on Friday. The girls were taken to a nearby hospital for preliminary treatment. No casualties were reported.
According to preliminary information, the fire broke out in flat I-304 of the society after the refrigerator belonging to a family allegedly exploded. The blaze quickly spread through the flat, trapping the two girls inside.
A local youth and fire brigade personnel acted promptly and rescued the girls from the flat. They were subsequently shifted to Jeevan Jyoti Hospital for preliminary treatment, where they were undergoing treatment.
On receiving information about the fire, corporator Shatrughna Kate immediately contacted fire brigade officials and ensured that fire tenders were dispatched to the spot. He also reached the society and took stock of the situation.
Kate said he spoke to fire brigade officials and instructed them to take necessary measures to bring the fire under control and ensure the safety of residents.
Corporators Anita Kate and Kunda Bhise were also present at the spot.

Fire brigade personnel worked to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the residential complex. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be established, and further details are awaited.
