Pune: Gambling Den Busted At Bungalow On NIBM Road, Valuables Worth Rs 58.3 Lakh Seized

Pune, 12th December 2021: The social security cell of the Pune police Crime Branch on Friday raided a gambling den in a bungalow at NIBM Road, Kondhwa. During the raid valuables worth Rs 58.3 lakh were seized.

The arrested accused has been identified as Jiten Jagdeep Singh (42), a resident of Cloud 9 in Mohammadwadi. An FIR has been registered against him at the Kondhwa Police Station.

Police had received information about a poker and gambling den operating in bungalow number 16 in Cloud 9 society in Sainik Nagar. Accordingly, the information was verified and a raid was conducted. Police have seized Rs 48 lakh Indian currency and foreign currency worth Rs nine lakh. The foreign currencies include 5,500 Australian dollars and 6,700 American dollars.

Foreign liquor bottles worth Rs 1.43 lakh as well as 10 gambling chips, 13 poker tables, 30 cats of cards, and one roulette table were seized from the spot.

The raid was conducted under the guidance of Additional CP (Crime) Ramnath Pokle, DCP (Crime) Shriniwas Ghadge and ACP (Crime 2) Laxman Borate.

The team included Police Inspector Shilpa Chavan of the social security cell, Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad of the Anti-Narcotics Cell-1, Police Sub Inspector (PSI) Shridhar Khadke, probationer PSI Reshma Salunkhe, Vishal Shinde, Sachin Tarde and other police personnel.
