Pune : Ganesh Mandal Utilises Unused Donation Money To Distribute Helmets
Pune 29th Sept 2023: A ganesh mandal from Pimpri Chinchwad has set an example by utilising the unused funds collected from people as donation for the ganesh festival for a good cause. The members of the Waghzai Mata Mitra Mandal decided to purchase helmets using the donation money that was unused during the festival and distributed these helmets to the riders to send out a message about road safety.
The idea was initiated by the traffic department of Pimpri Chinchwad Police to which the members of Waghjai Ganesh Mandal decided to support and purchased a total of 100 helmets from the donation money and they were distributed to the helmetless riders on road.
According to officials, the members of the ganesh mandal wanted to spend unused donation money for a good cause and they approached police seeking their recommendation. The traffic department urged them to distribute helmets to the riders to send out a message about the importance of wearing helmets while riding and the ganesh mandal workers agreed to it. The initiative has been appreciated by the citizens.
