Pune: Baramati Records 59.5 Rain In Last 24 Hours And Ambegaon Records 46 MM, Yellow Alert To Continue For Today And Tomorrow For District
Pune 29th Sept 2023: The rural parts of the district have received a heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours and areas such as Baramati, Ambegaon and Rajgurunagar have recorded a good rain. According to the official data released by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Baramati has recorded the highest 59.5 mm rain in the last 24 hours in the district while Ambegaon has recorded 46 mm rain.
Similarly, Rajgurunagar has recorded 29.5 mm rain, Dhamdhere 27 mm, NDA 26.5, Khed 25 and Daund reported 20 mm rain in the last 24 hours. The city areas have recorded good rain in the last 12 hours. According to IMD, Wadgaon Sheri recorded 26.2 mm rain in the last 12 hours, Koregaon Park recorded 23.4 mm, Magarpatta 23.4 mm, Hadapsar 22.9 mm while Shivajinagar has recorded 21.1 mm rain.
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the district for today and tomorrow. The district is likely to witness ‘thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40kmph) at one or two places’ today and tomorrow. The heavy rain reported on Thursday caused waterlogging in several areas including Kothrud, Sinhagad road in the city and Ambegaon in the rural part of the district.
