Pune Ganesh Visarjan 2026 Ends After 33 Hours; Over 6.28 Lakh Idols Immersed

Pune, 26th September 2026: Pune’s Ganesh immersion procession concluded at 6:10 p.m. on Saturday, 33 hours and 27 minutes after the Kasba Ganpati procession began at 8:43 a.m. on Friday, according to Pune city police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) Dr Prashant Amrutkar said the procession “concluded peacefully.”
A press release records the immersion of 4,170 public Ganesh idols and 6,24,685 household idols over the festival period. It lists 2,927 public idols and 2,41,548 household idols for September 25, as well as 35 public idols immersed at their respective locations.
The five manache Ganpati— the most revered and honored Lord Ganesha idols in Pune city—travelled along Laxmi Road and completed their processions on September 25. Kasba Ganpati, the first, set out at 8:43 a.m. and finished at 4:43 p.m. Tambdi Jogeshwari Ganpati started at 9:18 a.m. and finished at 5:02 p.m., while Guruji Talim Ganpati proceeded from 9:39 a.m. to 5:05 p.m. Tulshibaug Ganpati began at 9:30 a.m. and finished at 5:40 p.m. Kesari Wada Ganpati, which set out at 9:26 a.m., finished at 6:12 p.m.
The press release also gives timings for five other prominent mandals. Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati began its procession at 4:18 p.m. on September 25 and finished at 8:27 p.m. Hutatma Babu Genu Mandal set out at 5:43 p.m. and finished at 1:05 a.m. on September 26. Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati began at 5 p.m. and finished at 4:08 a.m. the next day. Akhil Mandai Mandal proceeded from 7:05 p.m. to 4:34 a.m., while Jilbya Maruti Mandal began at 6 p.m. and finished at 1:10 a.m. All five used Laxmi Road, according to the police press release.
The final Ganesh idol under the Shivajinagar-Ghole Road Ward Office limits was ceremonially immersed at Patanga Ghat at 7:30 pm on Saturday.
The idol belonged to the Maharashtra Tarun Mandal from Kashewadi, Lohiya Nagar, Pune.
On police action during the immersion period, DCP Amrutkar said Shivajinagar police registered a case at 7 a.m. on September 26 under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Arms Act and the Maharashtra Police Act. “All 11 accused have been arrested,” it states, adding that property valued at ₹30,57,050 was seized from them.
