Pune, 19th June 2026: The renowned Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust and Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal will recreate the iconic Prem Mandir of Vrindavan as the main decorative theme for the 134th edition of the Ganesh festival. The announcement was made by Trust president Sunil Rasane during a press conference on Thursday.

The inauguration of the decoration work was held at the Trust’s workshop at Hirabaug Kothi, opposite Sarasbaug Ground, in the presence of office-bearers and members of the Trust. The ceremonial launch was conducted by this year’s art director, Nitesh Kumar.

Known for its grand pillars, illuminated domes and depictions of Lord Krishna’s life, Prem Mandir is one of Vrindavan’s most visited spiritual landmarks. The Trust aims to bring the essence of the temple to Pune through a massive replica that is expected to be a major attraction for devotees during the festival.

According to MLA and Trust general secretary Hemant Rasane, the replica will stand nearly 100 feet tall and will be inspired by the temple’s marble architecture. The structure will feature traditional North Indian temple-style pillars and domes, along with sculptural panels depicting episodes from Lord Krishna’s life, including Raas Leela, Govardhan Leela and Jhula celebrations.

The replica will measure approximately 120 feet in length, 90 feet in width and 100 feet in height. Floral decorations, sacred motifs and elaborate lighting arrangements will further enhance its grandeur. A decorative entrance arch with intricate carvings will also be erected at Budhwar Chowk as part of the festival décor.

The running mandaps on both sides of the main structure will showcase various scenes from Lord Krishna’s life, while a large idol of Radha and Krishna will adorn the top façade of the temple replica. The sanctum and main assembly hall have been designed to provide devotees with an unobstructed view of Lord Ganesha from a distance.
