Pune: Gang Stealing Car Silencers Arrested In Hadapsar, Ten Silencers Seized
Hadapsar, 16th December 2022: Crime Branch Unit 5 has arrested a gang that stole car silencers in the Hadapsar area. Goods such as 10 silencers, and two-wheelers worth Rs two lakh have been seized from them.
Vinay Lalit Chavan (20), a resident near Gajanan Temple, Gajanan Heights, Fursungi, along with two minor boys have been arrested.
Police Inspector Hemant Patil of Unit 5 was patrolling the area along with the team. At that time, the team received information that the accused of silencer theft was in the Hadapsar area.
Accordingly, the team detained Vinay. He admitted selling the silencer to Talha Ayub Ali Malik (24), a resident of Sagar Kamthenagar, Kondhwa who works as a scrap dealer. Malik then sold that to Shoukin Itzar Salmani (45), a resident of Kudalwadi, Chikhli, Pune. He has also been arrested for a registered crime.
The team included Assistant Police Inspector Krishna Babar, Police Sub Inspector Avinash Lohote, Police Constables, Pratap Gaikwad, Pramod Tilekar, Ramesh Sable, Vinod Shivle, Akbar Sheikh, Shashikant Nale, Sanjay Kumar Dalvi.
