Pune: GHRCEM Cyber Security Team Wins 2nd Prize for DeepShield Inspector App at Composit Ideathon, IIT Kharagpur
Pune, 2nd May 2024: The Data Science Department of G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management (GHRCEM), Pune, celebrates the success of its Cyber Security TY students’ team, “Power Rangers 2.O,” who clinched the 2nd prize at the prestigious Composit Ideathon, held at IIT Kharagpur. The event, drawing participation from 600 teams nationwide, highlighted the team’s groundbreaking solution: the DeepShield Inspector app, designed to combat the proliferation of deep fake content.
The DeepShield Inspector app, crafted by the talented quartet of Prasad Dhend, Vaishnavi Hande, Kshitija Gosavi, and Anuj Shukla, offers a robust platform for fact-checking deep fake content. With deep fake technology posing a significant threat to digital integrity, the team’s initiative addresses the critical need for discerning authentic information from manipulated content, thereby safeguarding individuals from misinformation and preserving digital credibility.
Recognizing their exceptional skills and innovative prowess, the Power Rangers 2.O team received accolades, including medals, certificates, and a cash prize of INR 6,000, along with the invaluable opportunity of mentor guidance from IIT Kharagpur.
Guided by esteemed mentors Dr. Arti Patle, Dr. Deepika Ajalkar, and Dr. Swapnil Mahajan, the Power Rangers 2.O team showcased remarkable dedication and ingenuity in conceptualizing and developing their project, underlining the pivotal role of mentorship in nurturing student innovation.
Dr. R. D. Kharadkar, Campus Director of GHRCEM, expressed pride in the team’s achievement, affirming the institution’s commitment to fostering educational excellence and empowering students to pioneer transformative solutions in the field of technology and cyber security.
