Pune: Girl Trying To Escape Quarantine Centre Trapped In Window Grille, Rescued By Fire Brigade

Erandwane, 16th March 2021: An 18-year-old girl allegedly tried to escape from a Coronavirus disease (COVID19) quarantine centre in Erandwane on Monday night. However, she got trapped in the window grille and the fire brigade had to be called to rescue her.
According to Pune Fire Brigade, the incident took place around 11.30 pm on March 15 (Monday) at the quarantine centre near Central Mall. The girl, who hails from Delhi, was trying to flee but got trapped in the window. The centre staff called the fire brigade and the police.
Accordingly, officials from Erandwane Fire Station and Deccan Gymkhana police station rushed to the spot. They reassured the frightened girl, broke the window sill with the help of a hydraulic cutter and rescued her safely.
Rajesh Jagtap, Station Officer, Erandwane Fire Station, told Punekar News, “The quarantine centre has many female inmates. The girl was trapped in the window on the second floor of the building. It took about 15 minutes to cut the grille and rescue her.”
Satesh Karle, in-charge, Tandel Rajendra Paygude, Fireman Rajendra Bhilare, Kailas Pawar, Nilam Shahane, Modar Nalawade, Driver Rakesh Naik, Navre and Pagare were present on the occasion.
