Pune: Godown On Sinhagad Road Engulfed In Flames, Firefighters Manage To Bring Fire Under Control
Pune, 8th March 2023: A fire broke out at Shri Sainath Furniture Godown located in Vitthalwadi, Sinhagad road at around 1:10 am. Upon receiving the information of the fire, the fire brigade promptly dispatched tankers from Sihangad, Navale, Janta, Kothrud, Erandwane, and headquarters.
The firefighters arrived on the scene to find large flames engulfing the godown. They quickly began to spray water from all sides to try and put out the fire. The main door was locked, but the firefighters managed to break it down with cutters and entered the godown to continue their water attack. They managed to bring the fire under control within half an hour, preventing it from spreading to neighboring shops.
The fire destroyed furniture materials, tables, chairs, electrical wiring, machines, and other wooden items in the 1500 sq. ft. godown. A part of the roof also collapsed due to the intensity of the fire. No one was injured in the incident, officials said.
