Pune: Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics Celebrates Its 95th Foundation Day

Pune, 6th June 2025: The Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, one of India’s oldest and most prestigious institutions dedicated to economic research and education, celebrated its 95th Foundation Day on 6th June 2025 at its historic campus in Pune.
Founded in 1930 in the memory of Gopal Krishna Gokhale, the Institute continues to be a leading center of advanced learning in economics, public policy, and governance.
This year’s celebration was marked by a solemn gathering of faculty and staff under the iconic banyan tree—a symbol of the Institute’s enduring academic and cultural legacy. The event featured keynote addresses and reflections on the institution’s long-standing contributions to public policy and social progress.
On this occasion, Offg Deputy Registrar Dr. Vishal Gaikwad emphasized the Institute’s continued commitment to academic excellence, research, and service to the nation. He highlighted the values on which GIPE was built and the vision that continues to guide its path forward.
