Pune: Gokhale Institute To Inaugurate Centre For Sustainable Development On 1st January
Pune, 28th December 2022: The Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune, has announced the launch of a new research centre – the Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD). The inauguration, scheduled on Sunday (1st January) at 10:30 AM, will be in the presence of the eminent scientist Dr Raghunath Mashelkar. The event is scheduled to take place under the Banyan Tree, GIPE campus, BMCC Road, Pune.
Dr Ravi Pandit (Group Chairman, KPIT Technologies) and Dr Pramod Chaudhari (Founder & Executive Chairman, Praj Industries) will be the guests of honour (patrons). The session will be chaired by Vice Chancellor Dr Ajit Ranade.
Professor Gurudas Nulkar will spearhead the new Centre with a multidisciplinary team of young researchers at Gokhale Institute. The Centre will engage in research, fieldwork, and policy advocacy on sustainable pathways for India. The megadiversity of India necessitates local solutions that can steer the nation towards a path of sustainable development.
