Pune: Gold Biscuits Worth Rs 2.5 Crore Stolen From Sarafa Bazar; Woman Arrested From Kharghar In Navi Mumbai

Pune, 22nd July 2022: Police arrested a woman from Kharghar who had stolen five kg of gold biscuits worth Rs 2.5 crore from a gold shop at Ravivar Peth. The arrested woman has been identified as Madhavi Suraj Chavan (32), a resident of Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Rakesh Solanki, the owner of Popatlal Gold Shop, has filed a complaint at Faraskhana Police Station.

Solanki has a shop in Saraf Bazar in Ravivar Peth. Madhavi Chavan used to come to Solenki’s shop to buy gold. Chavan used to sell gold to goldsmiths in Kharghar. They knew each other as Chavan was Solanki’s regular customer.

Two days ago, Chavan came to Solanki’s shop for shopping. She bought five kg of gold biscuits. She told Solanki that she deposit the cash in his bank account. She said she will put the Biscuits in the parked vehicle in front of the shop. But she ran away from the shop and did not even pay Solanki.

In this regard, Solanki has filed an FIR in the police station. During the technical investigation, the police got information that she was in the Kharghar area. After that, the police arrested her from Kharghar.

Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Priyanka Naranvare, Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Landge, Assistant Inspector Santosh Landge and the team carried out this operation.
