Pune: Goon Gajanan Marne’s Wife Jayashree Marne Joins NCP

Pune, 17th February 2022: The approaching municipal elections in Pune in 2022 have resulted in the formation of a political front in the city. Aspiring candidates have also begun to join other political parties.

The wife of notorious goon Gajanan Marne, Jayashree Marne, yesterday joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the presence of NCP city president Prashant Jagtap. She had previously served as a corporator for the MNS.

Rupali Thombre Patil, the leader of the MNS, joined the NCP last year. Following that, Jayashree Marne became a member of the NCP.

Jayashree Marne stated that if the party gives her another chance, she will contest the election again.Her entry, according to political observers, may help NCP in wards under the Kothrud assembly constituency which is dominated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

NCP city unit president Jagtap said, “After the announcement of draft ward structures, candidates from other parties are approaching us.”

NCP spokesperson Pradip Deshmukh said, “Jayashree Marne was earlier with MNS and has been doing good work. She has now joined the NCP and there are no cases against her.”
