Pune: GPS- Based Attendance System To Be Implemented By PMC For Field Officers
Pune, 14th January 2023: According to a statement from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), a GPS-based attendance system will be implemented for the education department’s field officers.
The new system will keep track of how many schools each field officer visits each day. For municipal employees, the administration has connected biometric attendance to Aadhaar. Therefore, the former will know if the employee showed up for work, the employee’s working hours, and how many schools were visited during the day.
This action aims to increase the department’s accountability and effectiveness while also raising the standard of instruction in Pune’s schools. The GPS-based attendance system’s rollout is anticipated to start in the upcoming weeks. To facilitate a smooth transition, department of education officials will receive training on the new system.
Deputy Commissioner for General Administration Sachin Ithape stated, “GPS attendance systems would soon be introduced in PMC. This system will cost Rs 7 lakh 20,000, and the Standing Committee has been asked to approve the plan.”
