Pune Grand Tour 2027 Dates Revealed, Cycling Race to Begin on Republic Day
Pune, 8th April 2026: The district administration has announced that the second edition of the international cycling event, ‘Pune Grand Tour – 2027’, will be held in Pune from January 26 to January 31, 2027. District Collector
Jitendra Dudi said that both the opening and closing stages are scheduled on public holidays to minimise inconvenience to citizens.
Dudi was speaking at a meeting held at the district collector’s office to review route planning, traffic management and other logistical arrangements for the event.
The officials said key changes have been made in planning to ensure that daily life of residents is not disrupted while allowing citizens to enjoy the event. The opening stage has been finalised from the International Convention Centre in Mulshi to Hinjewadi, offering a blend of scenic landscapes and the city’s IT hub.
Authorities said the event will showcase Pune district’s historical, cultural and natural diversity, covering areas such as Sinhagad, Saswad, Junnar, Rajgurunagar, and the scenic Lonavala-Khandala ghat section.
The administration has issued directives to all concerned departments regarding traffic regulation, security, medical arrangements and volunteer management. Officials said efforts are being made to ensure minimal traffic disruption. A detailed planning already underway and periodic reviews be held, a senior official said.
Dudi added that the previous edition helped put Pune on the global map, and the upcoming event is expected to be even more expansive, contributing not only to sports promotion but also boosting tourism and the local economy.
The six-stage race will be held as follows:
Stage 1 (Mulshi to Hinjewadi) – January 26
Stage 2 (Baramati to Saswad) – January 27
Stage 3 (Junnar to Rajgurunagar) – January 28
Stage 4 (Alandi to Lonavala/Khandala) – January 29
Stage 5 (Lonavala/Khandala to Hinjewadi) – January 30
Final Stage (PCMC to Balgandharva Rangmandir) – January 31
