Pune: Grass Fire on Hinjawadi Phase 3 Hill Raises Concerns

Hinjawadi, 11th March 2025: A grass fire broke out on a secluded hill in Hinjawadi Phase 3 on Monday evening, sparking concerns among residents. The fire was reported around 7:30 p.m. to the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) fire station, which promptly dispatched a fire vehicle to the scene.

However, firefighters are facing difficulties in reaching the flames as the fire truck can only access the base of the hill. “The fire is proving difficult to extinguish since our vehicle cannot get close to the flames,” said Fire Officer Suyash Kapase of the MIDC Fire Department.

Despite the challenges, officials have assured that no residential areas are at risk. The affected hill is unoccupied and unused. Firefighters are actively working to contain the blaze, and Kapase stated that they expect to bring it under control soon.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities plan to investigate once firefighting efforts are completed.
