Kondhwa, 11th March 2025: The Maharashtra government has taken note of alleged illegal construction and unauthorized migration of Sinhagad City School, Kondhwa Budruk, Pune. Minister of State for Urban Development Madhuri Misal informed the Legislative Council that a proposal has been submitted to the Deputy Director of Education to decide on the cancellation or continuation of the school’s recognition.

The issue was raised in the Legislative Council by member Yogesh Tilekar, who questioned the legitimacy of the school’s building and its operations. Responding to the concern, Minister Misal stated that the school, affiliated with the CBSE board, currently accommodates 2,100 students. Given the severity of the situation, a letter has been sent to the Deputy Director of Education, recommending appropriate action, including the possibility of revoking the school’s recognition.

“The Pune Municipal Corporation has already issued a notice regarding the matter. While ensuring that action is taken against unauthorized constructions and schools operating illegally, we are also committed to safeguarding the future of the 2,100 students studying there. Proper reallocation of these students will be planned as part of our social responsibility,” said Misal.

The government is expected to take a final decision on the school’s recognition after reviewing the Deputy Director of Education’s report.
