Pune, 4th February 2023: It was a mesmerising moment when over one lakh devotees collectively enchanted the ‘Om Gan Ganpataye Namah’ at Suryankant Kakade Farm, Kothrud on Friday evening. The Art of Living, Maharashtra had organised ‘Bhakti Utsav’ in the gracious presence of spiritual Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who has changed the lives of thousands through yoga, sadhana and Satsang.

This collective chanting of Atharvashirsha has now entered the World Record.
Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, District Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil, MLA Shahajibapu Patil, former mayor of Pune Murlidhar Mohol, Rajay Shastare, an apex member of Art of Living, Maharashtra, Shekhar Mundada, Dr Rajesh Dhopeshwarkar, Balvindersingh Chandok and Dheeraj Agarwal along with the famous singers Vikram Hazara and Gayatri Ashokan, graced this occasion.

This record attempt has been acknowledged by the Asia Book of Records, India Book of Records and the World Book of Records, London and all the participants will receive the e-certificate of the World Record.

During the Satsang, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said, “Maharashtra is known for their devotion, love and bravery. It’s a miniature form of a country. In India, we can witness all theories in verses. Ayurveda is a science which is written in verse. Similarly, the wisdom of Bhagwat Geeta is also narrated through singing. So, the Bhajan is for self-complacency. If we do not surrender through prayer, we become anxious.”

“A sharp intellect mind and a gentle spirit is a gift of Indian culture. You will get benefits from meditation and chanting if it’s done daily. Meditation Yoga consists of Bhakti, Karma and Jnana Yoga. Meditation is necessary for mental peace, and every country in the world has now accepted it. Our life will end someday, so rather than worrying about that, live happily and carefree. Yoga should reach every home so that everyone will be healthy,” he added.

Devendra Fadnavis said it was an honour to witness a historic moment. “Gurudev creates an ocean of devotion wherever he goes, and Pune is known as the home of wisdom and learning. So, such a record can happen in this city only. Ganapati is God of wisdom and Atharvashirsha gives us a stable intellect,” he said.

“Gurudev has awakened Indian culture and spirituality in India and many countries of the world. The way Swami Vivekananda convinced the world of the superiority of his thoughts, Gurudev is spreading spirituality through science. It is the core of his work,” he added.
