Pune: Grand Reception For Maharashtra NCC Cadets Who Stood First At Republic Day Parade

Pune, 4th February 2023: The National Cadets Corps (NCC) Contingent of Maharashtra Directorate for Republic Day Camp 2023, which stood first for the second consecutive year among 17 NCC Directorates of the country and bagged the prestigious Prime Minister Banner was given a grand reception by Commander and all ranks of NCC Group , Pune at NCC Group Headquarters on their arrival on 03 Feb 2023.

The Contingent went through series of Inter- Directorate competitions and events and came out Champion based on overall performance , which included Drill competition , Cultural events, Flag Area competitions, Ship-Modeling, Aero-Modeling, Best Cadet Competition and a plethora of other activities. 22 cadets, 11 each from Boys & Girls took part in the Kartavya Path March Past. The Contingent Commander of boys contingent was Senior Under Officer (SUO) Pujari Shivanand Ashok of NCC Gp HQ, Pune. Seven of the Nine Best Cadet contenders attained All India Ranks. There was One Gold Medal, two Silver medals and one Bronze Medal winner amongst the seven. The Contingent also bagged 10 Trophies including Most Enterprising Naval Unit (MENU) and First in Flag Area etc.
The Republic Day camp was inaugurated by Honorable Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar on 07 Jan 2023. Honorable Raksha Mantri, Shri Rajnath Singh visited the camp on 21 Jan 2023 and finally the event culminated with the Prime Minister’s Rally on 28 Jan 2023, wherein the Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi gave away the Banner and the Trophy to the Champion NCC Directorate and felicitated individual winners too.
