Mohammadwadi, 20th March 2026: A security guard was allegedly assaulted by two unidentified persons at a residential society in Mohammadwadi on Thursday evening, leaving him injured and requiring medical treatment.

The incident occurred around 7:40 pm at the exit gate of Ganga Kingston society in the Mohammadwadi area. According to the complaint submitted to the Senior Police Inspector of Kalepadal Police Station, the victim, Devanand Dongare, was on duty when two men allegedly tried to enter the premises without authorization.

When Dongare attempted to stop them, the two men reportedly attacked him. “Two drunk individuals attempted unauthorised entry, and when I stopped them, they assaulted me, overpowered me, and attacked me with sticks,” the guard said.

Dongare sustained injuries during the assault and was taken for medical treatment, where he received six stitches.

The complaint has been submitted by Jaymala Dhankikar, a social activist and BJP member from the NIBM Annexe area of Mohammadwadi. In her letter to the police, she urged authorities to register an FIR, identify the accused and take strict action against them.

She also requested increased police patrolling and preventive measures in the area to ensure the safety of residents and security staff.
