Pune, 2nd January 2023: Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil held a meeting today (2nd January), reviewed various projects under Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and gave instructions to speed up the works.

On this occasion, Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, Municipal Additional Commissioner Kunal Khemnar, Ravindra Binwade, Deputy Conservator of Forest (DCF) Rahul Patil, Municipal Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakne, Chief Engineer Vijay Kulkarni, District Superintendent Land Records Suryakant More, and others were present.

Patil reviewed Ambedkar Chowk Warje to Mahatma Colony road, Eklavya College to Mumbai-Pune road, Balbharti to Paud Phata road, and Panchvati to Pashan Sutardara road.

“The projects implemented for the convenience of the people should be accelerated,” he said. He gave instructions regarding obstacles in land acquisition and stated action should be taken to find a way through consensus.

Ambedkar Chowk Warje to Mahatma Colony road under the approved development plan of Ambedkar Chowk to Gopinath Nagar Kothrud, the length of 30 m DP road is about 1,800 m. The current condition of this road is steep and largely level. Therefore, the process of reporting a new comprehensive project is underway.

After the completion of the road, the traffic congestion on the national highway will be eased. The information was given on behalf of the Municipal Corporation that by reducing the travel distance in Kothrud and Karvenagar areas, the traffic on the Karve road (NDA road) will be reduced.

Eklavya College to Pune Mumbai service road is 15 m wide. The length of this road is 250 m from Shantiban Chowk to Eklavya College and 360 m from Eklavya College to Pune Mumbai service road, totalling 610 m. Out of this length, the total developed road length is around 540 m.

The process of acquisition of land affected by the undeveloped road is underway. With the development of this road, the traffic congestion in Chandni Chowk will be reduced, and it will be convenient for the residents of the concerned road to go to the Pune Mumbai service road instead of using the private road in Pramthesh Society.

The 30m wide development plan road from Balbharti to Paud Phata has a total length of about 2.10 km. It was also said that the development of this road will help reduce the traffic congestion on Law College Road. Panchavati to Pashan Sutardara road was also reviewed at this time.

During the meeting, the National Commemoration of First Girls School in Bhide Wada, PMC and Clean Organization Model and Solid Waste Management, Sinhagad College Campus, and problems in Ambegaon Budruk area work on the Gadima memorial at Kothrud, and others, were also reviewed.
