Pune: Guardian Minister Inspects Metro Projects At Shivajinagar

Pune, 2nd December 2022: State Minister of Higher and Technical Education and Guardian Minister of Pune District Chandrakanta Patil visited the Pune Metro Project today. Initially, the underground metro station at Shivajinagar was inspected. After that, Patil inspected the Garware College Metro Station, took a ticket, and travelled by Metro to Vanaj Station.

 

On this occasion, MLA Bhimrao Tapkir, Madhuri Misal, Sunil Kamble, Managing Director of Mahametro, Dr Brijesh Dixit, and others were present.

The Guardian Minister believes that the first phase of Pune Metro will be completed by March 2023 During the inspection Patil said, “Given the growing need of the city, we are doing projects like roads, flyovers, and others. But, once the metro work is completed, the crowd in the city will migrate to the metro. The work of Pune Metro is going on fast and one phase of 33 km will be completed by Mahametro by March 2023.”

 

The next three phases will also be accelerated. He said that the proposal of phases has been sent to the central government for approval, and he will pursue it himself. Also, 85 km in the third phase. The Municipal Corporation is preparing the project report for the Long Metro. He also said that there will be a positive change in the transport system of the city.

 

While aiming to speed up passenger traffic, he expressed his belief that since each station is designed according to different concepts, it will also add to the beautification of the city.

After inspecting Shivajinagar’s underground metro station, Pune Metro officials, along with Dixit, made a computerized presentation of the progress of the project.

 

This multi-modal integrated underground station has been constructed under Shivajinagar ST bus station and will be connected to ST, railway station, PMPL and Hinjewadi metro lines so that passengers will be able to use all the transport facilities. After visiting the Shivajinagar metro station, the station is designed with the concept that the era of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will stand before you. Officials said that typical structures like replicas of historic structures have been used in this construction.

 

On this occasion, the Minister was shown the progress of the platform, metro line and various subway works in this station. Later Patil inspected Garware College Metro station and took a ticket and travelled to Vanaj station by metro.

 

“After reviewing the progress of the Metro today, we feel like we are in a dream; the imagined Metro has become a reality,” Patil said.
