Pune, 17th July 2023: In a remarkable effort to improve housing and sanitation facilities in Khed block, Pune district, Habitat for Humanity India, a prominent housing non-profit organization, has joined forces with CP Kelco India. The partnership aims to construct safe and secure homes for 12 underprivileged families while also enhancing sanitation amenities for two schools in the area. The project’s completion was celebrated with a handover ceremony held in Awhat village, attended by Mr. Suresh Kumar from CP Kelco, representatives from Habitat India, and the local community.

This collaborative initiative marks a significant stride towards addressing the urgent need for housing and improving the living conditions of 12 families who previously resided in vulnerable circumstances. Commenced in October 2022, the project has been successfully completed within a year, delivering all housing and sanitation units to the local community. Each house is equipped with a living room, kitchen, sanitation unit, and bathroom. Additionally, the improved and hygienic school sanitation facilities will benefit a total of 586 students, including 293 girls and 323 boys, from the villages of Awhat and Kadus.
