Pune, 28th April 2026: Three persons were detained and a case was registered at Hadapsar police station after a video purportedly showing loan recovery agents assaulting a man on a road in Pune went viral on social media, prompting police action amid public outrage.

The detained accused, identified as Jay Kasar (26), Vineet Kasar (30), both residents of Manjari and Tanishk Khude(19), who is a resident of Mundhwa.

The accused have been booked under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita relating to voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful restraint, criminal intimidation and acts committed with common intention along with other relevant sections. The case was registered following a complaint lodged by the victim, who has been identified as a 35-year-old resident of Fursungi.

Police said the incident came to light after the video was widely circulated online, following which an inquiry was initiated and the three accused were taken into custody. The footage allegedly showed the men manhandling and assaulting a person in public during a recovery-related dispute.

According to the complaint, the accused were working as recovery agents for Indusind Bank and were demanding more money than the loan amount. As the complainant refused, they assaulted him.
