Pune: Hadapsar Police Rescue Cab Driver Attempting Suicide

Hadapsar, 4th March 2025: A timely intervention by the Hadapsar police saved the life of a 28-year-old cab driver who attempted suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan late Saturday night.

According to police officials, the incident came to light when the cab driver’s brother-in-law made an urgent call to the Hadapsar police beat marshals, reporting a heated argument between the driver and his wife.

“When we arrived at the house, we found that he had locked himself inside a bedroom,” said an officer from Hadapsar police station. Realizing the gravity of the situation, the police forced open the door and discovered the man hanging.

“He had used a dupatta to hang himself from the ceiling fan,” the officer added. Without wasting time, the team immediately cut the fabric and brought him down.

The cab driver was found unconscious, and the officers swiftly rushed him to Sassoon General Hospital. “Fortunately, he responded well to treatment and was discharged by Sunday night,” the officer confirmed.

The police are now working with the family to ensure the man’s well-being and have urged people to seek help in times of distress.
