Beed, 4th March 2025: Tensions are running high in Beed district after graphic photos of Santosh Deshmukh’s murder surfaced on social media, triggering widespread outrage. Citizens have responded aggressively, with calls for a district-wide bandh circulating online since last night. As a result, traders have shut their shops, and the usually bustling markets are now deserted. While no official stance has been taken by any political party or organization, the bandh has received significant public support, raising questions about whether Beed will remain shut for the day.

Meanwhile, Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange is scheduled to visit Massajog today to meet Deshmukh’s family, further intensifying attention on the case.

Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh was kidnapped and brutally murdered, allegedly by the gang led by Valmik Karad. The case took a shocking turn when the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) charge sheet revealed disturbing photos and videos of Deshmukh being assaulted. Once these visuals went viral, anger erupted across Beed, leading to the spontaneous bandh.

While citizens demand strict action against those responsible, law enforcement authorities are urging restraint. Beed Superintendent of Police Navneet Kanwat has issued a notice appealing to the public not to take the law into their own hands. He confirmed that the CID has filed a charge sheet in court, and certain images from the investigation have been circulating online, fueling reactions on social media.

As Beed remains on edge, authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any law-and-order disturbances.
