Dighi, 14th December 2023: Residents of Krishna Nagar, Bharat Mata Nagar area of Dighi, have been grappling with the distressing issue of drinking water mixed with drainage for the past six days. Despite filing complaints, the problem remains unresolved, leading residents to appeal to the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) for immediate intervention.

In Vikas Colony, Adarsh Nagar, and Dighi, some areas have been experiencing polluted water and low water pressure for the past two years. Despite repeated complaints, PCMC officials have reportedly not addressed the concerns, causing frustration among residents. Even after the installation of a new pipeline, water-related issues persist, with some areas facing a forceful water supply while others suffer from inadequate water even failing to reach the tanks.

The contaminated water supply has led to health complaints among residents, including stomach upsets.

In response to the situation, Ravindra Chavan, a resident of Krishna Nagar in Dighi, expressed, “This type of contaminated water supply has been happening in our area for the past week. In some areas around us, this problem has been a little too much for the last 2 years. Officials have come and gone, but what they are doing is not an option.”

PCMC Water Supply Department Executive Engineer Ramnath Takle informed Punekar News, saying, “We will take a look at the situation. Most of the time, there is a problem of contaminated water due to something stuck or mixed in the chamber. Me and my team will solve the problem soon…”
