Pune: Heavy rainfall activity predicted for Pune from July 2

Pune, July 1, 2020: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Pune has predicted an increased rainfall activity in Pune from Thursday, July 2. A heavy rainfall warning has also been issued to the ghat areas in Pune district.

From July 3 onward, isolated heavy rainfall activity in plain areas of Pune city has also been predicted by the IMD Pune. “This condition will continue till the first weekend of July,” said Anupam Kashyapi, Head of Weather, IMD Pune. On Monday, there was continuous rainfall in the city throughout the day due to which there was flooding in Camp, Wanawadi areas.

Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall has been predicted for the ghat areas of the district till July 7. Heavy rainfall warning has also been issued to Pune, Raigad, Satara, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts in the state for the next two days. Gusty winds have been predicted for the northern coastal region of Maharashtra till July 5.

As per information provided by IMD Pune, the city has received 221.7mm rainfall in the month of June.
