Pune: Heavy Vehicle Chaos Between Dhayari Phata and Raikar Mala: Daily Traffic Jams Leave Citizens Frustrated
Dhayari, 23rd July 2025: Commuters using the stretch from Dhayari Phata to Raikar Mala, falling under Pune Municipal Corporation limits, are facing severe daily traffic congestion caused by the unchecked movement of heavy vehicles throughout the day. Despite repeated complaints, the traffic department has failed to initiate any concrete action, leading to rising public frustration.
Residents say no alternate routes are available for these vehicles, and as a result, schoolchildren and office-goers are forced to leave much earlier, yet still struggle to reach their destinations on time. On many days, people remain stuck in traffic for hours, with no relief in sight.
No restrictions have been imposed on heavy vehicles—neither time-bound movement nor traffic controls have been enforced by the Traffic Department.
“How long before the traffic department takes action against heavy vehicles?” ask agitated citizens, demanding immediate and effective measures from the administration to ease congestion and regulate heavy vehicle traffic on this vital route.
Residents are urging authorities to recognize the seriousness of the issue and implement strong regulatory steps, including dedicated time slots or diversions for heavy vehicles, to bring relief to thousands of daily commuters.
