Pune: Hinjawadi Lodge Owner, Manager Held in Prostitution Scandal

Hinjawadi, 28th March 2025: The officials from the Pimpri Chinchwad crime branch raided a lodge in Vinode Vasti, Hinjawadi, on Wednesday, uncovering an illegal prostitution ring. The operation led to the arrest of two individuals and the rescue of a young girl who was allegedly coerced into the illicit trade.

According to police, the crime branch acted on intelligence suggesting that a prostitution network was active at Atithi Lodging and Boarding. “We deployed an undercover agent to verify the information,” an officer explained. Following the agent’s confirmation, cops stormed the premises and discovered two females at the location, one of whom was underage.

The primary suspect believed to be orchestrating the racket managed to escape during the raid. However, the lodge owner and the manager were apprehended on-site. “It’s shocking that this was happening right next to a primary school,” the police official remarked, highlighting the audacity of the operation.

The arrested pair now face charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and other relevant legal provisions.
