Pune: Hinjawadi Police Seal 18 Hotels, Restaurants, Hookah Bars For Violating COVID Curfew Rules

Hinjawadi, 25th May 2021: A total of 18 Hotels, Hookah Bars, Beer Shops and restaurants have been sealed by the Hinjawadi police station, Pimpri Chinchwad police commissionerate, for violating regulations and conditions imposed by the administration in the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Anand Bhoite said that FIRs have been registered against these establishments which will remain sealed till the Maharashtra state government declares an end to the lockdown.
According to police, the necessary establishments for essential items are allowed to open from 7 am to 11 am on weekdays, while the hotels/restaurants have been allowed to provide home delivery services. However, these 18 establishments were found to have been violating the rules.
“An aggregate of three teams have been formed within the limits of Hinjawadi police station to seal the Hotel/Restaurant / Chinese Centre/Beer Shop establishment in Hinjawadi-Maan, Pune-Bangalore Highway and Bavdhan. The team authorized in the area did not observe any improvement in the behaviour of the mentioned Hotel/Restaurant/Chinese Centre/Beer Shop establishments and we strongly speculate that they are spreading COVID-19 among the citizens” said, DCP Bhoite.
A written proposal was submitted to Tehsildar and Taluka Executive Magistrate (Mulshi) with respect to the sealing of these establishments. Accordingly, the magistrate issued an order to seal these establishments from May 24. They will remain sealed until the state government orders an end to the lockdown.
The action was taken under the guidance of the Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash, Additional Commissioner Ramnath Pokale, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Anand Bhoite, ACP (Wakad Division) Shrikant Disle and Senior Police Inspector Balkrishna Sawant. The team included Police Inspector (Crime) Ajay Jogdand, API Deshmukh, PSI Salunke, Khadke, Mudal, Kakade, Yalmar, and police personnel Parale, Mohite, Mohol, Ghadge, Jadhav, Pawar, Pandhare and Sheikh.
