Pune Hit-and-Run: Woman Killed During Morning Walk in Pashan
Pashan, 25th January 2026: Another hit-and-run incident has shaken Pune, with a speeding car fatally hitting a woman during her morning walk in the Pashan area. The victim, identified as Asha Patil (65), died on the spot after being struck from behind by an unknown vehicle.
According to police, the accident occurred early in the morning when Patil was out for her routine walk. A car, allegedly being driven at high speed, hit her from the rear and fled the scene without stopping to provide assistance. Local residents alerted the authorities, but Patil had already succumbed to her injuries by the time help arrived.
The police have registered a case of hit-and-run and launched a search for the accused. CCTV footage from nearby roads and housing societies is being examined to trace the vehicle and identify the driver.
Officials said efforts are underway to reconstruct the sequence of events and track the car involved in the fatal crash. The incident has once again raised concerns over road safety and reckless driving in Pune, especially in residential areas during early morning hours.
