Pune: Hood Knocks Out Second Seed at MSLTA – Navsahyadri Krida Sankul All India Ranking U-14 Super Series Tennis Tournament 2024
Pune, 29th October 2024: Qualifier Namish Hood led the charge against the seeded players as five seeded competitors were eliminated in the boys’ second round at the MSLTA – Navsahyadri Krida Sankul All India Ranking U-14 Super Series Tennis Tournament 2024. The tournament is organized by AIM Tennis Academy in association with Shaping Champions Foundation Pune, under the auspices of the AITA, MSLTA, and PMDTA, and is being held at the Navsahyadri Krida Sankul Tennis Courts.
Qualifier Namish Hood upset second seed Rishav Prasad of West Bengal with a score of 7-5, 7-6(6). Another notable upset came when Shaurya Gadade defeated fourth seed Tanish Patil 7-6(5), 6-4. In the third upset, Vivaan Malhotra outplayed Ahaan Jain of Maharashtra with a decisive score of 6-0, 6-1.
Local player Vir Chattur stunned seventh seed Avdhoot Nilakhe with a score of 6-0, 6-3, while unseeded Aaryan Kirrtane rallied from a lost first set to edge out eighth seed Tejas Holla of Tamil Nadu, winning 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, to advance to the quarterfinals.
