Pune: Hospital Worker Kills Wife To Marry Nurse, Arrested
Pune, 24th November 2022: A man working in a private hospital in Pune fell in love with the nurse working with him. To marry the nurse, he injected his wife with poison and killed her. Both were married five months ago. For 10 days, the accused kept misleading the police. However, the police arrested him on Wednesday.
The name of the arrested murderer is Swapnil Sawant. 23-year-old Swapnil Sawant married Priyanka Kshetre only five months ago. After their marriage, they lived in a rented house in Kasar Amboli village of Mulshi tehsil, where he killed her.
According to the Paud police station of Pune district, the incident took place on November 14. Since then, Swapnil was constantly trying to mislead the police. He was arrested on Wednesday, 23 November.
Inspector Manoj Yadav of Paud police station told news agency PTI that Swapnil had taken his wife Priyanka to the hospital in critical condition on November 14. There the doctors declared Priyanka dead. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took the dead body into custody and sent it for postmortem. Murder accused Swapnil was determined to prove the whole case a suicide.
When the police investigated the crime scene, an alleged suicide note was found in the house, which was signed by Priyanka. Based on this, a report of domestic violence and abetment to suicide was registered against Swapnil. Police are also investigating the genuineness of this suicide note.
When the police started investigating the case, some shocking information came to light from the hospital where the accused works. During the investigation, the police learnt that the accused had stolen some medicines and injections from the hospital a few days back. In the strict interrogation of the murderer, he accepted his crime. The murderer said he killed his wife only through injections and medicines stolen from the hospital. After this, the police included sections related to murder in the FIR.
