Pune Hosts NCC Conference: Celebrating Achievements and Setting Goals
Pune, 28th April 2024: On April 26, the NCC Group Headquarters in Pune hosted its Annual Training Conference, drawing Group Commanders from across the region. The event, presided over by Maj Gen Yogender Singh, VSM, ADG of the NCC Directorate Maharashtra, served as a platform to commend the outstanding efforts of Group Commanders in the previous Training Year.
Maj Gen Yogender Singh praised the Group Commanders for their exceptional performance, which led to the Directorate clinching both the prestigious PMS Banner and the Championship Trophy at the RDC 2024 in New Delhi.
Key discussions during the conference revolved around charting the roadmap for the training of NCC Cadets for the upcoming Training Year 2024-25. Additionally, significant attention was directed towards the expansion of NCC activities in Maharashtra, a recent approval by the Ministry of Defence.
As the conference concluded, accolades were bestowed upon exemplary units. The Pune Group received the esteemed Best Group Banner, while the I Mah Naval Unit and 1 Mah Air Sqn NCC were honored with the Best Naval and Air Unit awards, respectively. Notably, selected NCC Cadets and civilian staff were also recognized for their contributions during the event, receiving commendation from Maj Gen Yogender Singh, ADG of the NCC Directorate Maharashtra.
