Pune, 10th June 2025: Mumbai and Pune police have been put on high alert after a worker at a Pune hotel threatened to shoot the owner and warned of a bomb blast in Mumbai. The threat was reported late Monday night when Sandeep Gade, a resident of Kothrud, received a phone call from Sandeep Singh, a former employee at his hotel in Satara. Singh, who had quit his job two days earlier, allegedly threatened to kill Gade by shooting and also warned of a bomb blast in Mumbai.

Following the call, Pune Police Control room immediately informed the Mumbai Police, prompting heightened vigilance across all security agencies in Mumbai. Kothrud police also took prompt action by questioning Gade about the incident. Authorities confirmed that all relevant law enforcement units were notified as per protocol to prevent any potential threat.

Officials revealed that over the past year, Mumbai police have received more than a hundred threatening calls and false information reports, which require thorough investigation. Despite intensive efforts, identifying and apprehending culprits behind such threats remains challenging due to lack of specific laws, resulting in quick bail for offenders. Police have stressed the urgent need for stricter legislation to effectively handle such cases.

The police control room also faces frequent prank calls and false alarms, often linked to personal disputes, financial issues, or relationship problems. Each call demands verification to rule out security risks, placing additional strain on law enforcement resources. Authorities emphasize that no threat can be taken lightly given the importance of public safety, making the management of such hoaxes a persistent challenge for police forces in Mumbai and Pune.
