Pune: Hunger Strike By MLA Tingre To Demand Solutions For Porwal Road Woes, Other Issues In Vadgaon Sheri Constituency

Lohegaon, 4th April 2023: MLA Sunil Tingre has announced that he will go on a hunger strike in protest against the Pune municipal corporation’s failure to address major issues such as blocked roads, water problems, and traffic congestion in the Vadgaon Sheri assembly constituency. The hunger strike is set to begin at 10 am on Thursday (6th April).

MLA Tingre has been consistently following up with the Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar through meetings, physical visits, and correspondence regarding the pending issues of citizens of the Vadgaon Sheri Constituency. However, there has only been delay from the administration. Therefore, he has decided to take the path of hunger strike as a last resort. The fight will continue until the administration takes concrete action on the issues in the constituency, he said.

The hunger strike is aimed to protest against the traffic congestion on Porwal road and city roads, blocked river bank road, proposed flyovers at Vishrantwadi, Shastrinagar and Kharadi Bypass Chowk, water problems in Lohegaon, Khandobamal road and other DP roads, Siddharthnagar Slum Rehabilitation, laying of Rainwater Lines in various parts of Constituency, Dhanori Lakshmi Township to Samshanbhumi Road, Palladium Road, survey number 6 road. This fast is also aimed to clear the issue of shifting the Buddha Vihara at Vishrantwadi Chowk and to draw the attention of the administration.

MLA Tingre hopes that this hunger strike will finally bring the issues to the forefront and the administration will take the necessary steps to resolve them.
